Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Golivo processes, where it is stored, and how it is used. It covers both the Golivo desktop application and the getgolivo.com website. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

Who We Are

Golivo is operated by:

Golivo is an independent software product for Etsy sellers. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Etsy, Inc.

The term “Etsy” is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This application uses the Etsy API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc.

Scope of This Policy

Golivo consists of two parts:

  • The desktop application — installed on your computer and used to prepare and manage Etsy listings.
  • The website (getgolivo.com) — used to provide information about Golivo and support.

The desktop application primarily processes data locally on your computer. The website uses only the cookies described in Section 6.

Etsy OAuth and Credentials

Golivo connects to your Etsy shop through Etsy’s official OAuth authorization process.

  • Golivo does not collect or store your Etsy password. Sign-in takes place on Etsy’s own authorization page.
  • When you authorize Golivo, Etsy issues access and refresh tokens. These tokens are stored in your operating system’s secure credential storage (OS Keyring).
  • The Etsy Developer App Shared Secret is also stored in the OS Keyring.
  • The desktop application’s network communication is currently limited to Etsy’s official API and authorization domains: openapi.etsy.com, www.etsy.com, and api.etsy.com.
  • Golivo does not currently send your application data to a Golivo-operated server.

Disconnecting a shop

When you use Disconnect Shop, Golivo removes the Etsy access and refresh tokens for that shop from the OS Keyring.

Disconnecting a shop does not remove:

  • your local Workspace files;
  • your local listing database;
  • locally stored shop data;
  • your Etsy Developer App Shared Secret.

These items remain on your computer.

Local Application Data and Files

Golivo uses a local-first workflow. The following information is stored on your computer:

  • product photos, videos, and digital files;
  • Excel spreadsheets used with Golivo;
  • local database data for your Etsy shop and listings;
  • application and shop connection settings;
  • locally stored logs.

This information is processed locally to prepare listings and previews before changes are sent to Etsy through the official API.

Golivo does not upload your Workspace files, listing database, photos, videos, digital files, or Excel files to a Golivo-operated server.

Logs

Golivo keeps local logs to help with troubleshooting.

Logs are stored on your computer and are not sent to Golivo automatically.

If you contact support about a technical issue, you may choose to attach a log file to your message. Any information contained in a log file that you voluntarily send becomes part of that support communication.

Website Cookies

The getgolivo.com website is built on WordPress and hosted with HostPro.

We currently do not use:

  • Google Analytics;
  • Meta Pixel;
  • Plausible;
  • Hotjar;
  • advertising or marketing tracking tools.

The website uses CookieAdmin to manage cookie consent.

Currently, the only cookie observed on the website is:

No analytical, advertising, or marketing cookies are currently used.

You can manage or withdraw your cookie consent through the cookie settings available on the website.

Support Communications

When you contact support@getgolivo.com, your message and the information you choose to provide, including any attached files or logs, are processed for the purpose of responding to your request.

The support mailbox is initially handled through the website’s hosting/email setup and forwarded to a Gmail mailbox.

Golivo does not currently use a separate helpdesk platform.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data.

The Golivo desktop application currently communicates directly with Etsy’s official API and authorization services. It does not currently send your listing data, Workspace files, or other local application data to a Golivo-operated server.

The website and support email rely on third-party infrastructure used for website hosting and email delivery.

We do not currently use advertising, analytics, or data-broker services.

Data Retention

  • Desktop application data remains on your computer for as long as you keep it. Golivo does not remotely remove this data.
  • Etsy access and refresh tokens remain in the OS Keyring until the relevant shop is disconnected or the credentials are otherwise removed.
  • The Etsy Developer App Shared Secret remains stored in the OS Keyring until it is removed by the user or by a future application function.
  • Support communications are retained in the support mailbox for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request and maintain the correspondence record.

Security

Golivo uses the following security measures:

  • Etsy access and refresh tokens are stored in the operating system’s secure credential storage;
  • the Etsy Developer App Shared Secret is stored in the operating system’s secure credential storage;
  • Golivo does not collect or store your Etsy password;
  • known sensitive authentication information is excluded or masked in application logs.

The local listing database and Workspace files are stored on your computer. Golivo does not claim that these files are encrypted.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your computer, user account, Workspace folder, and other local storage.

Uninstalling Golivo

Uninstalling Golivo removes the installed application files.

The uninstaller does not manage or remove your Workspace folder or other user data stored outside the application installation directory.

Your local Workspace, listing database, and OS Keyring credentials may therefore remain on your computer after uninstalling Golivo.

If you want to remove this data, you must remove it separately from your computer.

Privacy Requests

Because most Golivo application data is stored locally on your computer, you have direct control over that data through your own file system and operating system.

You may ask what information we hold about you or request deletion of information that we are able to delete.

Children's Privacy

Golivo is a professional software tool intended for Etsy sellers and business use.

The service is not directed at children and Golivo does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Golivo’s functionality or the way we process information changes.

If we make changes, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page.

Future functionality such as user accounts, licensing, analytics, or other services will be addressed in the applicable policies when those features are introduced.
