Getting Started

How do I start using Golivo?

Install Golivo on your computer, choose a workspace folder, and connect your Etsy shop. From there, you can scan your shop, export an Excel template, and begin preparing new listings or updating existing ones.

What do I need before I start?

An Etsy shop, and your Etsy Developer app credentials (Keystring and Shared Secret) to connect Golivo to your shop through Etsy’s official sign-in process.

Etsy Connection & OAuth

How does Golivo connect to Etsy?

Golivo connects through Etsy’s official Open API v3, using OAuth 2.0 — the same secure sign-in process Etsy uses for any third-party application.

Does Golivo use Etsy's official API?

Yes. All communication with Etsy happens through the official Etsy Open API. Golivo does not access Etsy.com outside of this API.

Does Golivo store my Etsy password?

No. Golivo never sees or stores your Etsy password. Sign-in happens on Etsy’s own official page, and Golivo only receives the authorization Etsy grants after you sign in.

What permissions does Golivo request?

Golivo requests access to your listings and basic shop information — the permissions it needs to create and update listings on your behalf. It does not request access to your orders, buyer messages, or financial data.

Is Golivo affiliated with or endorsed by Etsy?

No. Golivo is an independent application built using Etsy’s official API. It is not made by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Etsy.

Data & Files

Where are my files and listing data stored?

On your own computer, in a workspace folder you choose. Photos, videos, digital files, spreadsheets, and your local listing records all stay there — Golivo does not upload them to a third-party server.

Does Golivo need my files to be in a specific place?

Golivo works with photos, videos, and digital files organized in your workspace folder, and matches them to the right listing when preparing or updating it. You can also set up reusable profiles for files you want to use across many listings.

Is my data backed up or synced to the cloud?

No. Golivo does not offer cloud storage or cross-device sync. Your data lives on the computer where your workspace folder is located.

Listing Creation

How are new listings handled?

You describe each new listing in a spreadsheet — title, price, description, category, variations — and Golivo matches your photos, video, and digital files to it, using your reusable profiles or your local folders. Every listing this creates is saved to Etsy as a Draft.

Are new listings published automatically?

No. New listings are always created as Drafts. You review and publish each one yourself, on Etsy, whenever you’re ready.

Listing Updates

How are existing listings updated?

You fill in a spreadsheet with only the fields you want to change for each listing — price, description, variations, files, and other supported fields. Fields left blank stay untouched.

What kinds of changes can I make in bulk?

Common examples include updating prices, updating descriptions, replacing a file across multiple listings, and replacing variations across multiple listings, along with other supported listing changes.

Will I see what's going to change before it happens?

Yes. Before anything is applied, Golivo shows a before/after preview for every listing affected, so you know exactly what will change.

Review / Draft Workflow

Does Golivo publish listings or apply changes without my confirmation?

No. New listings are created as Drafts, not published. Updates to existing listings require you to review a before/after preview and then explicitly apply the change. Nothing reaches Etsy without a deliberate action from you.

Multiple Shops

Can I work with multiple Etsy shops?

Yes. You can connect more than one Etsy shop, and each shop’s listings, profiles, and files are kept separate within your workspace.
